Acquire the knowledge and skills to apply strategies to create, promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement, initiative and innovation in an organisation, as well as identify, evaluate and manage the associated risks.

Course Objectives

On completion of this unit, the participant will be able to perform the following:

  • Develop an organisational culture of innovation, enterprise and continuous improvement with stakeholders
  • Develop enterprise strategies and actions to improve organisational growth
  • Appreciate the roles and responsibilities of managers in developing enterprising and self-directed workforce
  • Develop policies and strategies to promote and sustain innovation, enterprise and initiative for continuous improvement at the workplace
  • Establish a framework to track and evaluate improvement efforts at the workplace
  • Perform risk assessment of a new policy or management decision on organisational performance
  • Evaluate implication of risks on organisational performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Develop a framework for enterprise risk management
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the enterprise risk management programme

Pre-requisites

There are no entry requirements. However, Learners are assumed to:

  • Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level not lower than the ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 4
