Course Overview
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Officer to develop a practical risk management plan to manage WSH risks in the key industries including construction, manufacturing, marine, petro-chemical and services.
Who Should Attend
This course is relevant to those who would like to attain the Specialist Diploma in WSH, which is part of the certification requirement under the WSH Act, in order to be a WSH Officer.

Course Outline
- Formulate the risk management plan in accordance to the legal and other requirements
- Establish the method of monitoring the implementation of risk management plan
- Identify deviations from the risk management plan and propose appropriate corrective actions
- Evaluate effectiveness of implemented control measures to identify residual risks
- Revise risk management plan for continual improvement

Upon completion of the course a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
Pre-requisites
Trainee is to fulfill one of the tracks to be eligible for the course
Track 1
- Recognized Technology/ Sciencerelated Diploma/ Engineering Degree
And
- At least 2 years of WSH relevant working experience
Track 2:
- Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
- GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
- Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
- Have at least 2 years of post-WSH qualification working experience as WSH Supervisor, WSH Coordinator or similar occupation role
Track 3:
- Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
- GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
- Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
- Have at least 5 years of WSH-related working experience, in which 2 years should be recent working experience such as WSH Supervisor/Coordinator
Participants may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test.
