Develop a WSH Management System

Course Overview

This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to design a WSH Management System for an organisation in a specific industry.

Who Should Attend

This course is relevant to those who would like to attain the Specialist Diploma in WSH, which is part of the certification requirement under the WSH Act, in order to be a WSH Officer.

Total Training Hours: 22 hours

Course Outline

  • Establish a Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSH MS) according to organisational and WSH legal requirements
  • Design the components of a WSH MS according to organisational and WSH legal requirements
  • Integrate the elements of the WSH MS into a holistic system to meet the organisational and other requirements

  • Practical Performance

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Upon completion of the course a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Pre-requisites

Notice: This module has to be taken as the last module for Specialist Diploma in WSH

You are required to fulfill any of the following tracks to be eligible for the course.

Track 1:

  • Recognised Technology/ Science-related Diploma/ Engineering Degree

And

  • At least 2 years of WSH relevant working experience

Track 2:

  • Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
  • GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
  • Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
  • Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
  • Have at least 2 years of post-WSH qualification working experience as WSH Supervisor, WSH Coordinator or similar occupation role

Track 3:

  • Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
  • GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
  • Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
  • Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
  • Have at least 5 years of WSH-related working experience, in which 2 years should be recent working experience such as WSH Supervisor/Coordinator

Note: All Modules will be assessed according to full qualification. You may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test. Applications without ALL the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected.
