Course Overview

In many occasions, event Disc Jockey (DJ) is tasked to handle many technical or music related duties during the course of event. A series of considerable things needs to be set in place to execute a flawless delivery as part of a well-planned production.

LU1. Introduction to Event DJing

  • Introduction to the types of DJs (Club/Radio/Event etc.)
  • Why are deejays needed for events and why are their roles critical

LU2. Event Type Categorization

  • Event Type Categorization (Understanding the different types of events)
  • Audience Profiling, Crowd Reading  (Identifying the different guest type by the Demographics, Age Group, Nationality or Culture, in attendance ratio, seo one may gauge the audience unique needs in music

LU3. Music Categorization

  • Introduction of the different types of music genres
  • Methods in selecting music that is ideal for the event

LU4. Partnership Between Emcee / Event Organizer & DJ

  • DJ and Master of Ceremonies (Emcees) collaboration
  • You Are More Important Than You Think - The values that an event DJ could contribute in an event production

LU5. Basic Technical Overview

  • This section aims to educate trainees on basic equipment knowledge, equipment requirements and operational procedures

  • 10 to 15 questions quiz
