WSQ Perform Workplace First Aid

What's In It For Me

Who Should Attend

This security training course is suitable for security officers, front line personnel who wishes to acquire life- saving techniques. 

Course Duration

24 Hours (including assessment)

Course Outline

  • Follow emergency action principles
  • Demonstrate first aid for breathing emergencies
  • Demonstrate CPR and AED skills
  • Demonstrate first aid for unconscious casualty
  • Demonstrate technique for heat disorders, bites and stings
  • Demonstrate first aid for controlling bleeding and wounds
  • Demonstrate first aid for fractures & soft tissue injuries
  • Demonstrate first aid for head & spine injuries
  • Demonstrate first aid for burns and scalds
  • Demonstrate first aid for poisonings

Mode of Assessment

An assessment (3 hours) will be conducted by LHUB during the course. 

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)

Course Objectives

On completion of this module, trainees will have the knowledge and application skills in demonstrating workplace first aid and apply the skills acquired in the workplace

Pre-requisites

  • Minimum Secondary 2 education

OR

  • Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills are eligible:
  • Listening/ Speaking Min. Level 4
  • Numeracy Min. Level 4

OR

  • Participants may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test during registration.

OR

  • Participants who have taken WSQ Basic Licensing Units (Handle Security Incidents & Services and Provide Guard & Patrol Services - either under WSQ or NSRS) are also eligible.
