Design Thinking for Operations

Course Overview

Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success. It focusses on taking action to quickly build out ideas, test and refine. It is a proven blue print for to come up with innovative solutions within a short period of time.

The program will help participants to apply design thinking methodologies and execute design thinking processes to challenge norms and conventions in the organisation. There will be special focus on problem solving for digital transformation in an increasingly digital world.

The workshop, conducted by a Design Thinking expert, will ensure participants work through the six stages of the Design Thinking process to facilitate unique and innovative solutions.

Day 1

  • Establish why Design thinking approach is a sought after 21st century problem solving skill
  • Discuss the elements of Design Thinking mindset and learn tips on how to cultivate this mindset
  • Visit the key steps of Design Thinking through exercises
  • Hands-on experience of the Design Thinking approach and process (six steps) with a real life example.

Day 2

  • Continue with the case study and discuss the remaining steps of the design thinking process
  • Create a Design Thinking Culture
  • Conclude with query handling and call for action

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). This programme is offered on a modular basis only.
