*Singapore Work Permit Holders in the Service Industry - Hotels, Retail, and Food and Beverage

*Not applicable for Malaysian work permit holders

Course Duration

30 Hours

Course Outline

The course covers the following:

  • Converse effectively about events at the workplace
  • Apply service language during interaction with customers/clients/guests
  • Interpret workplace signs, symbols and charts
  • Interpret more complex workplace instructions
  • Use appropriate language to give directions and locations
  • Communicate workplace safety and health related issues
  • Describe workplace incidents/accidents
  • Interpret directions, schedules, signs, maps and menus
  • Interpret forms, notes and messages based on familiar situations

Medium of Instruction & Trainer

 A broad range of delivery methods which includes:

  • Focused listening
  • Role play
  • Paired work, small and large group work
  • Individual work
