Who Should Attend

*Singapore Work Permit Holders in the Service Industry - Hotels, Retail, and Food and Beverage

*Not applicable for Malaysian work permit holders

Course Duration

30 Hours

Course Outline

The course covers the following:

  • Greetings and self-introductions
  • Converse briefly about events at the workplace
  • Interpret time, days of the week and months of the year
  • Interpret prices
  • Ask for and interpret simplified workplace instructions
  • Communicate basic work-related information to others orally

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Communicate basic phrases at the workplace
  • Read basic high frequency sight words
  • Manage routine entry-level jobs that involve basic oral communication in English

Medium of Instruction & Trainer

A broad range of delivery methods which includes:

  • Focused listening
  • Role play
  • Paired work, small and large group work
  • Individual work 

Teacher: Student Ratio is 1:25.
