This course covers the following topic:

  • Crowd Control
  • Neutralizing an aggressor from abuse or possible assault
  • Neutralizing an adverse threat from assailant

8 hours (including assessment)

Course Outline

1.  Crowd Control

  • Organisational procedures in dealing with enforcing lines of demarcation and signages
  • Organisational procedures relating to monitoring of crowd behaviour
  • Understanding crowd behaviour
  • Organisational procedures in dealing with troublemakers
  • Knowing which authorities to contact in cases of distress or accidents
  • Understanding which type of assistance to provide to persons in distress
  • Safety procedures when managing crowds
  • Use of appropriate equipment
  • Organisational procedures relating to crowd dispersal

2.  Neutralizing an aggressor from abuse or possible assault

  • Proper stance to avoid sudden attack
  • Communication skills against an aggressor (e.g. Drunkard)
  • Mind diversion skills (Decoy Theory)
  • Negotiation Skills

3.  Neutralizing an adverse threat from assailant etc (IERE):

  • Identify the types of threat
  • Evade from the direct threat or danger
  • React to avoid the threat or danger
  • Escape from the danger or threat training

Course Objectives

This course equips the trainee with knowledge and skills to confidently handle potentially aggressive behaviours at the workplace.  It is suitable for anyone who may need to protect their safety and security in the course of their work.
