Word Processing Application is an essential tool that is used extensively in the workplace to create most types of documents. This course will allow you to gain basic knowledge about the functions of Word Processing Application to complete daily documentation tasks.

Course Outline

  • Using Tables
  • Work with documents and save them in different file formats
  • Choose built-in options such as the 'Help' function to enhance productivity
  • Create and edit small-sized word processing documents that will be ready to share and distribute
  • Apply different formats to documents to enhance them before distribution and recognise good practice in choosing the appropriate formatting options.
  • Insert tables, images and drawn objects into documents
  • Prepare documents for mail merge operations
  • Adjust document page settings and check and correct spelling before final printing of documents

Mode of Assessment

There will be a compulsory ICDL Certification Online Assessment for this course.

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Successful trainees will receive the internationally recognised ICDL Certificate upon completion of the course. This certificate is administered by ICDL Singapore, a new initiative from ECDL Foundation.

This is a joint certification between SSG and ICDL Singapore

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

Work with documents and use built-in options to enhance productivity.

Create and edit small-sized word processing documents.

Recognise good practice in choosing the appropriate formatting options and insert tables, images and drawn objects to enhance the documents.

Pre-requisites

Prior to attending this course, you should:

Know the basic functions of a computer.

Be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.

Have a keen interest to acquire new knowledge and willingness to learn a new skill.

Funding Information


Skills Development Fund (SDF) and SkillsFuture Funding:

  • Participants must attend at least 75% of the course, complete the exam with a pass or competent result.
  • Online applications are not applicable for companies applying funding with Absentee Payroll.
  • Workforce Training Support (WTS) funding only applies to trainee who is 35 years old and above with a monthly income of $2,000 and below.

For Company Registration:

  • Customers who are applying funding for trainee(s), please submit Training Grant applications in SkillsConnect website before registration.
  • Training Grant number is to be submitted together with the registrations.
  • Payment for the course must be using company cheque or via GIRO.
