Course Overview

This module enables candidates to use project management software to prepare project plans and monitor projects, including planning and managing time, costs, tasks, and resources.

Who Should Attend

Trainees who have attended the EqualSkills Programme (Trainees with little or no experience in the use of computers should attend the EqualSkills Programme in the first instance). Trainees who have completed Basic ICRT and want to refresh their skills in working in desktop environment, use of word processing tools, surfing the internet, word processing, spreadsheet and email functions.

  • Covers the key skills needed to use project planning applications and can be applied to a range of project planning software from vendor packages to ‘freeware’. This is certified as the best practice in effective project planning software use.

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Successful trainees will receive the internationally recognised ICDL Certificate upon completion of the course. This certificate is administered by ICDL Singapore, a new initiative from ECDL Foundation. This is a joint certification between SSG and ICDL Singapore

Course Objectives

On Completion of this module, the candidate would be able to: 

•Understand the key concepts relating to managing projects.

•Use a project management application to create a new project and maintain an existing project.

•Create and schedule tasks; add project constraints and deadlines.

•Assign costs; create and assign resources to tasks.

•View the critical path, monitor progress, and reschedule work.

•Prepare and print outputs, including charts and reports.

  • Participants must attend at least 75% of the course, complete the exam with a pass or competent result.
  • Online applications are not applicable for companies applying funding with Absentee Payroll.
  • Workforce Training Support (WTS) funding only applies to trainee who is 35 years old and above with a monthly income of $2,000 and below.
